A series of videos and conversations that challenges the social constructs we take for granted. Together, we’ll ask bold questions, rethink assumptions, and explore what it means to break free from the status quo.
Unsubscribe from the Gender War
It’s easy to get pulled into the narrative that we’re on opposing teams—men vs. women, us vs. them. But the truth is, most of us don’t live in that kind of world. We live in families. We work in mixed-gender teams. We care about each other. So why are we still framing so many social issues as gendered battlegrounds?
In this Unsubscribe post, we’re inviting you to let go of the idea that progress for one gender has to come at the expense of another. Universal childcare, mental health support, reproductive health—these aren’t “women’s issues” or “men’s issues.” They’re human issues.
When we stop fighting each other and start fighting for each other, real progress becomes possible.
Let’s unsubscribe from the gender war—and imagine what we could create together instead.
Unsubscribe from “Creativity on Demand”
We talk a lot about the need for creativity and innovation in our work—but what we don’t talk about enough is the conditions that make creativity possible.
In this week’s Unsubscribe video, we’re letting go of the idea that creativity can be summoned on demand. Instead, we’re exploring what it really takes to foster new ideas: space, pause, collaboration, play, even rest. If you or your team feel stuck in a cycle of constant productivity, this one’s for you.
Unsubscribe from Being Busy
How are you? Busy.
It's become the standard answer, hasn’t it?
But lately I’ve been wondering—what if I don’t want my legacy to be: “Oh yeah, she was really busy. She got a lot done.”
In this post, I share what happened when a health crash forced me to take a hard look at the cycle I was in—constantly doing, achieving, producing. Even my self-care had become something to check off a list.
Unsubscribe from External Authority About Ourselves
Yes, expertise matters. But so does your own lived experience, values, and intuition. Before you follow the next “proven” system or viral advice, pause and ask:
Does this actually fit me?
In this week's Unsubscribe, we explore the importance of reclaiming your own authority—because you are the expert on you.
Unsubscribe from Performative Progress
A recent all-female Blue Origin spaceflight was billed as a win for women’s empowerment. But here’s the thing:
Only two of the six women were actually scientists. The rest? Celebrities. So… who exactly is this empowering?
Representation matters. But when progress is driven by wealth, not purpose, we’ve got to ask some questions.
We’re not against women in space—we’re against calling it empowerment when it’s really just access + affluence.
This week, we’re unsubscribing from performative progress.
Because empowerment should be more than a photo op.
Unsubscribe from the Drive for Constant Self-Improvement
I want to take a moment and invite you to consider unsubscribing from something that's been deeply ingrained in us: the drive for constant self-improvement.
Don’t get me wrong—growth, learning, and evolving are all things I wholeheartedly support. But here’s the thing: this drive to “improve” often comes from a place of feeling like we’re not enough as we are right now. It stems from the idea that we need to change, be better, thinner, smarter, or achieve more to be worthy, to be good enough.
Unsubscribe from the Weight of the World
The world feels heavy right now.
Fascism. Conflict. Uncertainty. It’s a lot—and it’s easy to feel small in the face of it all.
But here’s what I’m holding onto: I’m not alone, and neither are you.
Millions of us are quietly resisting, unsubscribing from harmful systems, and standing up for humanity, compassion, and equality—in the ways we can, with the resources we have.
Small acts matter.
They keep us out of despair and rooted in purpose. Voting. Volunteering. Sharing truth. Taking action close to home. It adds up.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not broken—you’re awake. Let’s keep doing what we can. It matters.
Unsubscribe from the Body Project
How much of our lives have we spent trying to change, fix, or perfect our bodies—just to make them more “acceptable”?
Most women I know have been doing this for as long as they can remember. Because we’ve been conditioned to see our bodies as problems to solve rather than homes to live in.
And that belief? It fuels entire industries.
- $123 billion—the value of the beauty industry in North America.
- $75 billion—the diet industry.
- Nearly $200 billion spent convincing us that we aren’t enough as we are.
But what if we Unsubscribed from that idea?
Unsubscribe From Anything That Feels Like BS This IWD
International Women’s Day matters. Full stop. It puts gender equality, leadership access, safety, and sovereignty in the spotlight—issues we should care about every day. But let’s be real: some of what we see on IWD is all optics, no action.
At WLI, we believe in community over networks. Real change happens in small, intentional spaces where we connect deeply, share stories, and take action—whether that’s supporting women-owned businesses, advocating for equity, or making thoughtful donations.
Unsubscribe from the Crap in Your Newsfeed
We live in an era of information overload—yet distinguishing between high-quality, validated facts and opinion (or outright misinformation) is harder than ever. And with fact-checking taking a back seat in many places, the challenge just got bigger.
So what can we do? Become our own fact-checkers.
This doesn’t mean spending hours researching every headline. It just means going one layer deeper before accepting or sharing information—especially on social media.
DEI is Not Dead
Is DEI really dead? If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve seen DEI programs gutted, jobs slashed, and funding pulled. The knee-jerk reaction to complex social systems is often slash and burn—but that doesn’t mean DEI is the problem.
Like any change initiative, DEI has had wins and missteps. But diversity is a fact. Equality is a right. And inclusive leadership isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a proven business advantage.
DEI isn’t dying. It’s evolving. After rapid growth, it’s time to refine, learn, and do better. We’re still here. We’re still doing the work. And we’re not going anywhere.

Ever look at the world—politics, the workplace, culture—and think, this isn’t it? That feeling, that moment of questioning? That’s the first step to unsubscribing.
Unsubscribing means choosing not to accept the status quo just because it’s the way things are. It’s a powerful act of awareness, and we need it now more than ever.
