Unsubscribe from “Creativity on Demand”
How often do we expect ourselves—or our teams—to be creative on demand? Because the situation requires something, because we have a deadline, because we’re used to producing all the time.
The need for innovation is real. We do need new and better ways of doing things, and that requires creativity.
But here’s the truth:
Creativity doesn’t always thrive under pressure, and it often comes on its own time in its own way. We can’t force it. It flourishes when we create the conditions for it—things like collaboration, engagement, spaciousness, stepping back, and room to breathe. And dare I say, fun.
This week’s Unsubscribe video is a gentle nudge to stop forcing it and to rethink the idea that constant productivity and pushing leads to better ideas.
Sometimes, the most creative thing you can do is… back off, give it some space, shift gears, go play, take a breather, get a change of scene, involve someone new, get some coaching, eat some chocolate. You get the idea.
Watch this week’s Unsubscribe and give yourself permission to take a breath. You might be surprised what comes in when you do.
Alongside on the journey,
Belinda
