What if you could just… unsubscribe from carrying such a heavy load?
Unsubscribe from being the one who keeps all the plates spinning.
Ever feel like you're always the one who keeps everything going?
A project.
A dynamic.
A responsibility.
A relationship.
A family.
A team.
A role you don’t remember explicitly signing up for—
and yet, somehow, here you are.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to unsubscribe.
To unsubscribe from being the linchpin.
From being the end of the line.
From being the one who makes it all happen—and keeps it all happening.
I’ve been asking myself what it would look like to step back from the unspoken contracts I’ve inherited or internalized.
To say no, without guilt, to what was never really mine to carry in the first place.
To reclaim my energy from the perfectionism, the over-functioning, the managing—of people, of projects, of emotions that aren’t even mine.
In this week’s Unsubscribe video, I share some thoughts on releasing those roles and rewriting the stories that keep us stuck inside them.
And if you’re feeling the weight of it too, here are three questions I’ve been using to reframe the load:
Does it need to be done?
As in—does it actually need to be done? Or am I just reacting out of habit?Does it need to be done now?
Is the urgency real? Or is it just the default setting of always running on pressure and panic?Does it need to be done by me?
This one’s the hardest. But also the most freeing. Because sometimes, the answer is no. Actually, it doesn’t have to be me.
Maybe it turns out—it’s not even yours to carry.
And maybe…it never was.
In the messiness of it all,
