Meet the Faculty


Kathryn Szymczyk LL.B., ACC (Associate Certified Coach), is a lawyer, business development strategist, trainer and coach. Before recently going back in house at the law firm Gowling WLG as an international business development manager, Kathryn had her own business development consultancy. Kathryn brings the latest science, trends and mindsets in sales, business development and leadership to helping companies and individuals reach their full potential and thrive. She has coached, trained, facilitated and presented to professionals in Canada and around the world on business development, personal branding, and taking a client centric approach to business. She has a special interest in supporting women business leaders to move forward with intention and confidence in order to make a lasting impact on our world.

Prior to becoming a business development professional and executive coach, Kathryn practiced as a trademark lawyer for 12 years in top tier, full service law firms in Canada, Russia and Europe. Kathryn holds a B.A. in Russian Studies from Queens University Canada and an LL.B. (J.D.) from the University of Ottawa. She is a qualified barrister and solicitor called to the bar of Ontario, Canada. Karen Malone, inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, is re-imagining the boardroom with a seat for sustainability at every leadership table. Her agency, LitPark, develops strategy and operational plans for practical and meaningful approaches to sustainability. Karen’s an experienced leader in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program design and impact reporting and takes a hands on approach to define and test smart and simple sustainable strategies, creating your point of differentiation, improving your financial performance and ensuring your long-term survival in the marketplace. Cheryl Sutherland is an Optimism and Authenticity Coach, Speaker and Entrepreneur guided to help others in becoming their favourite version of themselves. By focusing on distilling a person's passion, she is able to help them reconnect and extract their own personal power. She is the Founder of PleaseNotes, a for-purpose company of affirmation-filled products.

Sonal Sodha is a charismatic leader known for her playful energy, wild curiosity and ability to connect with people. She began her career in healthcare as a retail pharmacist in 1998 and holds an International MBA from the Schulich School of Business. Sonal leverages over 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry at global companies including Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca and Bayer. She has hands-on experience in sales, marketing, strategy development, workshop facilitation and Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt).

As a Leadership Coach (PCC and CPCC), Sonal challenges her clients to step out of their comfort zones and access their most resourceful selves.


Lindsay Johnson has spent over 20 years in the world of marketing, sales, leadership development and strategic business growth. Lindsay specializes in cutting through the noise and distraction of the never-ending list of daily to-do’s to help folks connect to what’s most important and essential to their success. It all starts with you, what you value, and what you love to do. From there, Lindsay will get you into a strategic action plan to accomplish your goals and get you on your way to a fulfilling and meaningful life and career.

Ellen Duffield, author of "Brave Women: Building Bridges to Transformation." Ellen's research, writing and facilitating focuses on supporting seasoned and emerging leaders to think and act more transformationally. Ellen's workshops during the WLI retreats will help participants better understand their core strengths and inner critic, and to explore and connect with their power as women. Ellen is also the director of the Leadership Studio at Muskoka Woods.


Julie Veitch who is a certified professional Careerlife Transformation coach who has over 20 years experience in the fields of career and personal/spiritual development. She has guided hundreds of women who have felt stifled in meaningless careers to discover their true calling and initiate a solid plan to transition into a fulfilling livelihood that aligns with their passion, purpose and lifestyle priorities. Julie successfully reinvented herself as she moved from the traditional world of work to her own thriving private coaching practice and teaches others to also take a leap toward their dream.

Wendy Brookhouse and her audacious goal of changing one million lives, Wendy is the inventor of the proprietary One Number Solution(TM), a system that allows clients to achieve their financial goals faster and with less stress or anxiety. Wendy regularly speaks around money consciousness/mindset/psychology/behavioral finance and how to achieve lasting financial change because she believes wealth is so much more then just a dollar amount, it is about the joys you have in life and how you live day-by-day.

Wendy is proud to have founded the QueenPins organization which raises money for a local cause all while networking with powerful women.


Belinda Clemmensen, founder of The Women's Leadership Intensive, helps women live and lead to their full potential. As an ICF-certified coach and with 20+ years of experience as an award-winning designer and facilitator of leadership development initiatives across North America and beyond, Belinda has now turned her focus to helping women lead in whatever domain or industry inspires them. “I know how hard it is to bring a vision to life because I’ve done it. Whether that’s a vision for your career, your next leadership position, a business, a charitable or creative initiative. That’s why I developed the Women’s Leadership Intensive, so women wouldn’t have to re-invent the process every time, so women wouldn’t have to do it alone.
